Mix wet ingredients, add sugar, add dry, add stir-ins. Squish bits into balls (mine maintained their shape pretty well, so you can bake lots at a time, as close together as you like) or press into a tray. Hmm, maybe 8 or 10 minutes at 350F? They taste pretty good when they've gotten a little dark on the bottom.
This is particularly nice if you food-proc the chips up a bit first. I don't know if that's because some of it ends up super-fine which makes them rich, or just because they're nice smaller.
I have made these with an egg, but all it did was hold the dough together: they came out all shortbready anyway. The crumbly dough makes something between a bar cookie and a granola. Or you can add cooked oatmeal, hot water, more molasses, etc.
